I’m working on one forum project(mostly same like drupal forums); we have public groups and private groups. Inside that groups there are public and private forums. Users can post topics and posts for those forums. Public forum topic visible to any user. Group’s private topic only visible to group members.

When I calculate total number of topics and posts for particular user, who has a permission to access those topics and posts. But this total number of topics and posts are coming wrong for normal users. It is only coming right for administrator.

How can I solve this problem?

So I am not good at those things at all and I am stuck.

I tried to install managing news but just can't.
On their website it says follow the Drupal install and use Managing News profile instead of the Drupal profile.
Ok but when?

I am not prompted to choose anything.
I downloaded Drupal, created a database, went to localhost to run it locally first. And then the Drupal website was up and running.

Could someone take a few minutes to explain how to install that thing?

I am working on a registration form where I was told to add some fields such as educational and professional information with multipaging functionality

Means in the first page you will have normal fields and when you go to next page you have to fill education and professional experience data

Now the fields in these educational and professional section will be of increment type i.e when required the user can add one more field if have some more degrees and experience,upto 6 fields in both

If some can help me how it can be accomplished or what modules can help me in achieving this.

It would be very useful for Drupal.org to introduce new content type COMPARISON CHART that could provide sistematic way to get a better overview of different options (especially for modules and themes)... I see a lot of such pages with very bad design and nasty tables :-(

Hello!,
I am using Drupal 6 to develop my new site. My site is almost done. i am waiting just to launch it.

For security : I am using Drupal Captcha and Spam module. My question is what other modules I also need or must need to install on a Drupal site. please anyone from the community give me the list of modules to protect my site.

I am now using CVS to download Drupal and contributed modules. The first thing I noticed was the lack of version numbers in all modules except core. I found in this forum that I should now be using CVS Deploy. So I downloaded and installed it.

But in the docs, I did't see an explanation for how to run it (if there is, indeed, something that needs to run). Is it just supposed to automatically make the version numbers appear on the modules page? Or is there something I need to do?

I have a php script (well, hundreds), that is a form that passes the input data to a templated page and fills int he values with users inputted value. That's probably not very clear, so her is a link to a sample script. http://www.xfiend.com/sample/ft-test.php

The question I have is, what is the best way to do this?

Should I create a module? Should I do it as a page? Should I use Drupal forms? is there already a module that does this?

I am trying to control the width of the exposed inputfields in my form generated from Views. But I can't seem to figure it out.

In the views.css I can control the width of the apply-button, the color of the labels, the alignment etc. But I can't figure out how to control the width of the inputfields.

Can any body help?

I need a way for multiple users to first upload images to the same gallery and then be able to insert an image from that gallery into a page/block/etc through the CCK. It would need to as simple as clicking an "Insert photo from gallery" button that brought up thumbnails of all the images in the shared gallery. Is there any such module or combination of modules that supports this?

I am using Drupal6. I am using Shared hosting and non dedicated IP. That's why I can't use SSL. My question is what other option I can take to prevent my site from hackers. I know that SSL is advanced and it has no competitor , it is the best. But in my case i can't use SSl because of my low budget what is the othe options then?

NB:I also came to know that OpenSSl is also for dedicated IP
